"The Power of Prayer" - we hear it a lot. Or "prayers going up" or "prayers coming at you"...just wondering, where is God? Please don't send your prayers "up" like a helium balloon if you are praying for me. And most definitely I don't want them coming at me! Prayer in and of itself is totally powerless. Only God has the power to answer prayers. If He's not the biggest part of the equation, prayer is only words. It's all about God: His power, His mercy, His grace. Prayer has no power without being directed to God, and without His action on it.
I don't believe in the "power of prayer." I believe in the power of God.
